Casualties I & II

This photograph was taken during the March for Peace on January 27th, 2007 in Washington, DC. The artists shown in the picture are part of group called tri-be (pronounced: trīb), dedicated to "challeng[ing] people's expectations, judgments, beliefs, and views" [ tri-be.org ]. Each square inch of the red fabric represents twelve casualties of the war in Iraq. The estimated the total at that time to be roughly 300,266.
